Work starts on new Loretto homes in Paisley
Loretto has started work on 48 new homes for social rent in Paisley.
The development, in the town’s East Lane, is on the site of a former Arnold Clark garage.
The homes are a mix of two and three-bedroom flats, with four wheelchair-accessible flats.
Frank McCafferty, Wheatley’s Group Director of Repairs and Assets, said: “We’re delighted to be working with our partners at JR Group and Renfrewshire Council on this development and we are looking forward to seeing these much-needed homes for social rent take shape.”
The contractor is the JR Group and the £9m project is being built with grant assistance of £5.8m from the Scottish Government.
Andrew Dallas, Projects Director for The JR Group, added: “The plans for this development reimagine this brownfield site into an attractive place to live, featuring much-needed energy efficient homes and we look forward to progressing this vision on behalf of our partners, Wheatley Group.”
The homes are expected to be ready in early 2025.
