Tenants moving in to Loretto's brand new homes in Glasgow got together for a first footers themed Meet the Neighbours event.

They braved the rain to enjoy a chat and share their hopes for their new neighbourhood in Wallacewell Gate in Balornock.

Loretto have built 44 new homes there, and housing officer Yvonne Reilly organised the day to help everyone get to know each other.

As well as the chance to talk, tenants were given a first footers goodie bag, with shortbread and Irn Bru, some Tunnocks goodies and everything they needed to make a nice cup of tea.

Despite the rain and the cold, the neighbours took the time to introduce themselves to each other, talked about their homes and the neighbourhood and plan what they will do with their shared garden when the weather improves.

Tenant Rosaleen Gemmell said: "My new home is gorgeous, warm and I feel so safe there.

"It is peaceful and I like all the neighbours, which makes all the difference".
