Here for you in difficult times
Please remember we are here to support you and your family during these extraordinary times.
Thanks for your patience as we continue – under the current pandemic restrictions – to provide as wide a range of services as possible.
Please check this website regularly for developments as we follow all guidance and instruction from Scottish Government. Our top priority continues to be the safety of our tenants and staff.
Here is what you need to know.
Housing offices and staff
Our housing offices remain closed and our housing staff are working from home.
Staff will contact customers via text, telephone or email. If you have any welfare concerns or rent payment queries, then please talk to us.
We’re carrying out repairs, if it’s safe to do so. Our aim is to re-start a full repairs service before Christmas, strictly observing health-and-safety guidance, including maintaining social-distancing guidance in customers’ homes. We’re working hard to clear the backlog that’s built up on everything from roof repairs and drainage works to medical adaptations. Please bear with us.
Cyclical maintenance on the outside of homes, such as communal stair-lighting renewals, has also re-started.
When you request a repair, we’ll try to sort it as quickly and efficiently as possible. If we can’t help immediately, we’ll carefully explain why.
Keeping you safe
Annual gas safety checks are not only essential, but a legal requirement. Please do all you can to ensure yours goes ahead – when it’s arranged – at the time we’ve agreed with you.
Our programme of upgrading heat and smoke detectors in tenants’ homes is also continuing. Again, please be at home at the agreed time to ensure your smoke and heat detection system is fitted to the current standard. You’ll receive a letter with an appointment, and how to rearrange it if it doesn’t suit.
Remember, our Home and Fire Safety teams are also available to give you information and advice on keeping your home safe and secure. Contact your housing officer to arrange a visit.
Our anti-social behaviour officers are working hard with housing officers and Neighbourhood Environmental Teams (NETs) to deal with issues that cause upset and alarm.
As your landlord, we take this responsibility very seriously and work closely with Police Scotland and the local authority to ensure our communities are great places to live. If you’re affected, call the police on 101 and let us know too.
Our Neighbourhood Environmental Teams are carrying out a wide range of outdoor work and are doing final grass cuts before moving on to the regular Winter Maintenance Programme.
Cleaning in communal areas of our blocks has resumed, with normal weekly schedules re-starting in early November.
We began allocating homes again in August to people most in need, including the homeless, those living in overcrowded conditions and those who required an adapted property. If you want to apply for a house or note your interest in properties go to www.myhousing.org.uk
EatWell has provided over 565 emergency food packages to Loretto tenants in need since the start of the pandemic. A supermarket voucher system, put in place a few months ago, has led to over 30 vulnerable households receiving £1130 worth of food to date.
Home Comforts has provided free upcycled furniture and white goods to our vulnerable households since it re-started in September. If you need help, speak to your housing officer.
